worst scary movies ever? [19 Oct 2008|03:11pm]

liminal_space
What is the worst scary move you've ever seen?

My nomination for worst ever has to be "Death Tunnel" (http://www.deathtunnel.com/main.html) -- seriously, it was just so poorly done that it was laughable.

Art Bell is back in the high desert!

o.O

This, I personally believe, is the first step before he takes the show back from George's hands.

Woo.

George "Lee" Lutz died on May 8, 2006 at the age of 59 from conditions related to heart disease. A former land surveyor, he gained notoriety after he and his wife Kathy moved into a three-story home on Long Island in 1975 that was the site of the grisly DeFeo family murders. George and Kathy's accounts of the haunting that took place there, which they said included oozing slime, levitation and moving furniture, became the source for The Amityville Horror book and movies.

In Memoriam: Ramona Bell
Art Bell's beloved wife of fifteen years, Ramona, died unexpectedly last night after an asthma attack. At present, the exact cause of Mrs. Bell's death has not been determined. It apparently took place during her sleep.

Until her death, Art and Ramona Bell had not been apart a day since they were married. Mrs. Bell had suffered from asthma for years, and took her normal steps to control the attack, which occurred sometime last night in Laughlin, Nevada where the Bells were taking a brief vacation. Ramona Bell was 47 years old.

Royal Derwent - Ghost Photo [23 Oct 2005|02:12am]

royalderwent
Hello to all. For those who may or may not already know, I am researching The Royal Derwent / Willow Court complex - an old, abandoned mental asylum in New Norfolk, Tasmania, Australia. Over the next 12 - 18 months, I hope to make an independent documentary.

I just wanted to share a photo from our most recent trip. It was taken through a broken window looking into one of the wards. The camera I used was a Cannon EOS 300, a 400 speed film and the flash was used.

Have a look at the glass panel, second from the left. I have also included a close up of the "face".

Pitures are under the cutCollapse )

If you would like to know more about the project and don't already have me on your friends list, please visit royalderwent

I also have a website - http://www.royalderwent.biz

The Royal Derwent, or "Willow Court" was the oldest mental institution in Australia before it's closure in the late 90's. Situated in New Norfolk, Tasmania, the majority of the building lies abandoned, pending future redevelopment.

But my interest is in the urban legends and myths of hauntings. Through studying the history of the site and gathering these stories, I am hoping to make an independent documentary over the next 12 to 18 months.

If you have heard stories of the site, enjoy history or just love stories of strange occurrences and hauntings, please friend my journal as I document my journey...

If you could make a living doing paranormal investigations, would you choose that as a career path?

I would. >=)

Also, have any of you ever tried to capture EVPs?

eep!!!!! It really sent shivers down my spine. We have a box on the bookshelf with my Grans ashes in it, now I dont mean to be depressing but she died young and she was very much my best friend. Unexpected and strange she died in her sleep of a heart attack which is good I susspose at least she didnt feel it. Apparently my dad said she looked really annoyed when he went to see her but I would be If i were dead. ^_^ Now this is relevant because it shows how much this tiny clip of a movie could scare me it felt like she grabbed hold of me to tell me everything would be ok. But humans believe in silly things like this and I know it is silly but it's always nice to hope that there is something afterwards I'm terrified to face the darkness near the end. Do we just die and thats it.. or is there more. AHHH. I sat awake last night thinking about it before I even saw this clip. I shouldnt be scared of something so natural... it's just ahhh! Well I hope you guys know what I mean.

I'm looking for some folks that are interested in being part of a Pilot TV show for MTV that's somewhere along the lines of "Scare Tactics" or the old MTV show "FEAR". You'll need to come with me to central VA on the 16th of this month for the filming. They producers are looking for "young" (read under 30), "TV Friendly" (read attractive) people. If you or yoru friends or your sister or whomever fits the category and wants to be on the show let me know ASAP.

An unexplained radio signal from deep space could -- just might be -- contact from an alien civilization, New Scientist magazine reported on Thursday.

Best (or not best) Scary Moooovies of all Time! [06 Jul 2004|08:23pm]

ex_sinnie785
I was thinking about my favorite scary movies and came up with this list of the ones that most scare/intrigue/fascinate me. What are yours? :)

[in no real particular order]

1. The Ring (I still haven't seen the Japanese version -- is it better? Worse?)
2. Jeepers Creepers (Up until they actually showed the monster, it was one of the freakiest movies I've seen)
3. The original Salem's Lot television movie (When that evil kid is hovering outside the window with his weird-assed blue eyes and did the *tap tap tap* against the pane, I freaked out)
4. Jaws (I seriously, and I mean seriously, was afraid of the water for a long time after seeing it for the first time)
5. The Exorcist (I saw the unedited-for-television version for the first time when it was rereleased. It spooked me.)
6. Nightmare on Elm Street (The first one was clever and scary. Plus it's a good makeout movie.)
7. Carnival of Souls (Does anyone else remember this one?)
8. The Sixth Sense (clever, clever, creepy movie -- plus it had EVP in it!)
9. The Blair Witch Project (again, it was clever....when I first saw it I was living in the country and after leaving the theatre I had to drive home...at night....alone....)
10. Wax Work (This may not be the right title....it had the chick from "Valley Girl" in it and she was the Marquis de Sade's bitch...and liked it!)

so. share, chilluns....share.

I'm very sorry for the cross posting on this.

I am thinking about writing a book about the phenomenon known as "shadow people". I would like to include quite a few eye witness accounts as well as personal experiences with this phenomenon. I would like credible sources therefor I would prefer to receive non anonymous sources (of course should I ever publish names will not be printed). If you've had true experiences with this phenomenon please email me at dark_masque@spook-e-mail.zzn.com, and let me know your story as well as a little about yourself, I would also prefer people who wouldn't mind me emailing them back with further questions and of course you don't have to share anything that you don't want to.
If you don't know much about shadow people email me and I can give you a brief summary of the little that is known. This is a subject that interests me greatly and it hasn't had very much research done on it to this point. Also feel free to share my email address and request in any forums where people may be interested in sharing their stories. Thanks.

Traditional vampire slaying versus modern day law.

It kind of upsets me that customs that are obviously not affecting anyone negatively are being challenged.
